Students from Global Indian International School, Malaysia won the STEM (Inter Campus) Global Quiz which was held on 19th February, 2016.

The objective of the event

  • To develop interest in students about science and STEM activities.
  • To find out understanding and interest in students about scientific activities.

The quiz was conducted through VC room of GIIS Noida by the coordinator of STEM lab under Junior and Senior category. There were total four teams for the Junior as well as and for the senior category which was from different reputed schools namely GIIS Queenstown Singapore, Indus School Gurgaon, GIIS Noida, GIIS Bangalore and GIIS Malaysia. Each team had three members and there were rounds namely general science round and audiovisual round.

The preliminary round for both Cambridge and CBSEi campus was conducted at the school by the science department teachers and under the able guidance of the Head of Department Ms.Kalyani Patra, selected students were trained and guided for the final round.

The children were happy and excited to participate in this interactive web quiz. After initial lag in their scores, our students gained confidence, performed well and emerged as winners!

Days of practice and preparation paid off well when Ms. Sunita Jaisingh (National Head-Academics GIIS-India) shared the winner’s trophy through net, appreciated the efforts of all participants, teachers and congratulated the winners of STEM quiz.

1st Prize - Junior Category (Cambridge):
Prisha Palani - Year 5, Sankarsh - Year 5, Efrat Moveed - Year 5

1st Prize - Senior Category (CBSE-i):
Anjana Manikandan - Grade 8, Prithvi Anbu Chezhian - Grade 7,
Ritapravo Sarkar - Grade 7
